Counselor creation#
A counselor comes into existence through a recorded creation act by the operator (spec 4). An unregistered counselor is an ungoverned simulation and MUST NOT be described as GHOST-conforming. This skill produces everything the act needs and stops at the act itself.
The one placement rule#
Draft the charter outside the live seat location. If your runtime treats a directory of agent definitions as live, a draft placed there is an enacted counselor, which silently takes the operator's decision for them. Stage drafts somewhere inert; the operator's act is what moves the file.
Draft the artifacts#
- Corpus manifest (
schema/v1/corpus-manifest.schema.json): every source enumerated with identity, provenance, license basis, and hash where held (4.1.1). Record exclusions with reasons so nothing is out of corpus silently. For a projection, state the closing date (9.2). - Charter (
schema/v1/counselor-charter.schema.json): persona class (3, exactly one, immutable), the lens as a method description, authority rung 0 (the permanent default, 6.1), a session budget (the reference implementation uses 3 questions and 1 observation, 6.3), evidence sources (counsel is grounded in the principal's record, never the method alone), boundaries including register bans where the subject is quotable (9.3), and the five honest-frame affirmations (5). - Creation record (
schema/v1/creation-record.schema.json): date, operator, rationale, consequence framing, references, and the self-test results.
Validate all three: node tools/validate.mjs <file>.
Class rules that bind the draft#
simulated(living subject, no participation): private use only; never published, sold, or distributed (3.2.1, GH-12). Sharing requires the official path or the subject's explicit, revocable, written consent, named in the charter.projection(subject not living): never official (9.1); rights declaration required (4.1.5, GH-13); the corpus is closed and MUST NOT be extended by invention (9.2); ban the maxim register (9.3); no resurrection claims (9.4).composite: no name, likeness, or biography attributable to an identifiable real person (3.2.3, GH-15).official: subject-signed only (8.1); do not draft one without the subject's live participation.
Run the self test (14)#
Seed the drafted counselor (through a stand-in runner if the real seat is not yet enacted, and say so in the record) and record each result as pass, fail, or unknown; never infer:

Hand the operator the act#
The operator: decides the counselor exists and records date and rationale (4.1.3), confirms class and manifest, moves the charter into the live location, creates the bounded workspace where accumulated state and the calibration record live (10; the calibration record survives version changes, GH-11), and signs off the self test. If any of that is done by an agent, the creation is not a creation act; undo it and report it.
